3 Reasons To Skip P90X and Go Straight To P90X2

In the at home fitness program world it’s not often recommended to skip past the original workout program and go straight to the sequel when two programs are done by the same fitness instructor.  However when it comes to P90X2 there are three compelling reasons why going straight to the sequel and bypassing the original might just make sense.

The first reason is purely economical as it stands to reason by skipping one and saving for the other you save 50%. Let’s face it, P90X and X2 are expensive programs with the base kits starting at $119.85. Yet, it goes a bit further than that as well. With P90X you need certain pieces of equipment like bands, weights, a pullup bar, yoga blocks, mats, etc to help you get good results.  Without them the best you’ll get are lukewarm results. With P90X2 it is recommended to have similar equipment, however all the workouts are also shown done using to equipment. Therefore if you’re tight on cash and can’t spring for the extra gear, your best bet is X2.

Because X2 is a sequel based primarily on P90X, many of the same base moves can be found in it from the original. Granted these moves have been expounded on and intensified using equipment like medicine balls and stability balls, but the core move itself will be pretty similar to what you could find in the original program. Since this is the case you could justify going straight to X2. Te learning curve might be a little longer since you didn’t start with the original program, but it shouldn’t be so long that you end up eating half of your 90 days into the program just learning it.

Time or should I say lack thereof is an important factor for many people today. To make it plain and simple the last reason why it may make sense to ump with into P90X2 is because It simply requires less of a time commitment each week. With the one day less per week that X2 is based on your able to squeeze more time into your week and have an extra rest day.  What’s really interesting is that you should actually get better results with the P90X2 but in less time. This just proves that it is much harder and the routine is that much more efficient.

Phen375- the cost effective way to control weight

Phen375 is the newest technology in terms of weight loss pills. It effects the fastest rate of weight loss in all weight loss pills and does so without any harmful side effects. Naturally, it is the most valued weight loss pill as well as the one with the highest demand in the market. Critics of the pill say that its cost is a big deterrent to its effectiveness as it costs more than most other weight loss pills in the market. But then, it also brings with itself the maximum amount of benefits.

On an average, 30 tablets of phen375 cost around US$70 (£45) and are sufficient for a month’s usage (one tablet per day). Most companies give out special offers that encourage customers to buy large quantities in bulk for use of up to six months. For instance, 120 tablets (four months usage) of the pill cost around US$225 (£140), which drastically brings down the costs. Most big distributors and websites also offer additional discounts and offers for the pill, making it extremely cheaper than its market price. Now, the price still might seem too steep, but considering the advantages that the pill offers, it is quite reasonable. $200 is not too big a price to pay for a lifetime of health.

Vaccinating Children

Vaccines are such a hot topic these days and one that causes moms to question what the “right” decision is. Should I vaccinate or not? How do I make the right decision for my children?

I know, I’m a mom, and it’s on my mind too.

There are medical professionals out there who will tell you (whether you ask their opinion or not) all the reasons you should vaccinate, including the health risks if you don’t and all the research to prove it.

There are other medical professionals who are on the fence about vaccinating using the current schedule (administering multiple vaccines at the same time).

Then there are many chiropractors and alternative healers who are advocates for not vaccinating their children. Their kids attend school (I’m talking about NY), are healthy and they have the documentation and research to prove that vaccines are harmful to your child’s health.

Who’s right? That is a question for the ages and one that I’m not sure has a definite answer.

What is MOST important is what YOU think is right for your child.

DO the research, ASK your pediatrician, TALK with other moms and MAKE your decision. Then feel good about your decision. That is what is most important at the end of the day. Feel good and stand confidently behind your decision.

Here’s a few resources I’ve found very helpful. If you have your own please share them with others who are seeking to better understand (by posting on mommy chat forum-see below).

What Causes Ulcerative Colitis?

Ulcerative colitis, often referred to as UC, is a chronic autoimmune disease. The symptoms of ulcerative colitis include frequent bowel movements, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. UC can resemble the flu, making it difficult for most people to realize that they have the disease. There are about 500,000 patients within the United States diagnosed with the disease. The age group of 15 to 25 and individuals within their 50s represent most diagnosed patients, with women having the disease more often then men.

Causes

A cause for the disease has not been pinpointed. Although deficiencies in the immune system have been noted, there is not a consensus from medical professionals that the deficiencies are the cause. Other causes may be diet or stress, but there has been no conclusive study to link them to UC. It may also be caused by some sort of food sensitivities or infection if there is a genetic indicator for the disease.

Treatment

Most of the time, the symptoms do not warrant a significant treatment, and people can live without medications. If symptoms become moderate or severe, medication is usually the first treatment. Depending on severity, medication may be provided to alleviate the diarrhea and abdominal pain. If the symptoms are more severe, antibiotics may be used as well. Surgery may also be a solution if the medication is not an adequate solution. During surgery, the infected tissue in the small intestine is removed. Surgery is rare, as medication is usually successful if it is needed at all.

Maintenance

Regular doctor visits are needed to help manage the disease. A proper diet is also necessary. Calorie intake, protein, and other nutrients need to come from the many different food groups. The use of bacteria-based supplements is currently being studied to see if they may help to control the diet. It is especially important for a diet to be followed, as UC can be unpredictable.

The prognosis for patients suffering from UC is good. Many people live normal lives with very few, if any, activity restrictions. More attention may need to be paid to their medical needs, but the condition does not need to affect ones life negatively. Small changes in routine and activity are generally enough to keep most s symptoms in check. Carrying extra supplies, like underwear and toilet paper, is often helpful. UC does not have to change the life of the patient; a normal life is easy to have with this disease.

Back Pain

Back pain is a particularly prominent issue in adults and can be caused by a number of different factors. As you may know if you are suffering from back pains, it can be an extremely debilitating health issue.

The majority of back pain originates from sprains or strains caused by movements which place the back’s muscles and tendons in a stressed position. In these cases, the most effective treatment is simple rest and time. In addition, applying ice to the injured area and taking anti-inflammatory medication can aid in lessening the pain back to a more manageable level.
Most of the time, medical attention and surgery are not necessary and the ailment will improve with rest. However, more serious conditions such as herniated discs may require surgery and or physical therapy.
If the pain in back persists, it is always a good idea to consult a physician to diagnose the potential issues you may be facing.

Back pain can be a recurring injury and even simply movements that involve twisting or bending can bring the pain back. Staying active and exercising often can help in preventing these injuries. Maintaining a strong core and lower back reduces the risk of back pain exponentially.

Injuries most commonly occur in the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the back in the form of strains and sprains. These common ailments are not serious and will heal on their own with rest. However, injuries in the bones or nerves of the back can be a much more serious issue.

Tears in discs for instance can cause the annulus fibrosis to bulge out which can cause acute pain and inflammation. These injuries require immediate medical attention and many times require surgery.

Maintaining proper posture throughout the day, exercising frequently and using proper form when lifting heavy objects are the three most effective ways to avoid injuring your back.

In the event of an injury to your back, apply ice to the injured area immediately. After 48 hours, you may want to apply heat packs to the injured area which will relax injured tissue, alternating ice and heat therapy from then forward.

Acute back pain often lasts four to six weeks, while chronic back pain can be a long-term annoyance sometimes lasting throughout life in certain cases.
Taking the preventative actions to avoid back pain and utilizing the aforementioned treatments in the case of an injury are the best ways to avoid experiencing long-lasting, chronic back pain.
